Birdies, Eagles, Albatrosses, and Rhinos for Konica Minolta South Africa

The Glendower Golf Club in Johannesburg, currently ranked 19th in the country, recently played host to the annual Bidvest Golf Day over two days.

Konica Minolta South Africa, a division of Bidvest Office (Pty) Ltd, was a brand participant at the event and ran a competition at the course, which added to the air of competitiveness.

With the R20 purchase of a ticket, players had the chance to win a Samsung 55″ UHD LED PurColour television. The sale of the tickets raised R5,000, the proceeds of which have been donated to Care for Wild Africa’s rhino sanctuary, one of the company’s latest CSI partners.

Based in Mpumalanga, Care for Wild Africa focuses on the hand rearing, management and capture of infant, injured and orphaned animals, specialising in the care of rhinos. The driving force behind the organisation is the stabilisation and rehabilitation of these animals so that they might later be released back into the wild.

The centre has a designated area that is especially built to cater for rhinos, including a night pen and day camp. Care for Wild Africa also offers courses in the theoretical and practical aspects of first aid, hand rearing, handling and rehabilitation of wild animals.

Last month, Konica Minolta South Africa adopted seven orphaned rhinos that are being safeguarded at the rhino sanctuary, covering all maintenance costs relating to food, shelter and medication.
